Subject: Career in Organizational Psychology

Question: Respected Sir,
I'm a Psychology graduate.I am considering doing masters in Org. Psychololgy from DU.I have vague
ideas about the career prospects in the field am not very clear. I would like to know exactly what
credibility this profession/course enjoys, what scope it has and what kind of functions can i
perform after this course.
I am quite confused.Your guidance would be highly appreciated. Hope to get a prompt answer as i
have to decide and prepare myself accordingly for the coming session.

Answer: Dear Ashima,
It really depends on what kind of career you have in mind
eventually.If you want to pursue essentially a counselling or pure
psychology based career option then this course will be quite
useful.However, if you would rather be interested in pursuing a more
broadbased career in the field of human resources then you will be better
off going for the masters course in HRD/ OD or indeed the MBA programme
in HR where your background will be fairly useful.So, please decide
accordingly.
