Question: Dear sir/madam,
I am a student at secondary school, interested in job opurtunities
incorporating the internet as it becoming a necessary device and service
for any modern business.
I am recently, and desperately looking for infomation involving web site
design and the routes into it. Unfortunately I have had no luck.
I was hoping that you might be able to send me information on ways into
the business of website design (freelance) and of the various paths into
it, whether they be qualifications needed or simply possible courses run in
Britain.
At present I am a 16 year old student so I do not require, as yet,
information on where courses are run.
Thank you for your time and efforts,
Harry Burton. |

Answer: Hello Harry,
As you have explored that there is a good scope of web designing &
development.
If you have an aesthetic and creative bent of mind, you may go in for
courses in multimedia and graphic designing. OR else you can get into
the programming arena for web site development and pursue courses on
internet programming languages like CGI/Perl, Java and so on. Another
choice for working on web site development could be getting into
learning some specific databases like Oracle, Informix etc.
Please decide the course based on your interest, and try and practice as
much as possible on your own by doing small projects. This should build
an expertise in you which will be very much needed for working as a free
lancer.
Wish you all the best!
Your counsel. |
