Subject: Career after HSC? Can I do CS with B.Com?

Question: I have given my HSC exam this year and would like to know more about CS. If I do it along with Bcom.
Answer: Company secretary (CS) is quite different from a secretary to an executive and plays a major role in the administration of an organisation. CS is the in-house legal advisor and has to have a sound grasp of the company's financial policies. A CS acts as a link between the shareholders and the Board of Directors, governmental and other regulatory bodies. He/she also acts as the formulator of short-term and long-term corporate policies and as a registrar for the company. You can very well do it with your B.Com. ICSI imparts training in Company Secretaryship by Distance Learning (by correspondence) enabling students to qualify as Company Secretaries.
