Subject: Job prospects after completing MBA (Finance & Marketing)through IICT distance learning

Question: Hi,
I am working for in a MNC as a Software Engineer for the last 10 months and I have enrolled for MBA (Finance & Marketing)through IICT,Lucknow (distance learning) which will be completed by next year August. Please suggest me the future course of action that I should take to boost my career after I complete MBA.
Answer: As you are already working in an MNC and your distance MBA degree was an extension for your future growth prospects, you need to decide whether you are looking for a horizontal advancement or a vertical one in your given organisation or elsewhere. A distance course is beneficial when you have some substantial work experience as that boosts your career so either you look out for another organisation or move up in the hierarchy within. Both marketing and finance have a lot of opportunities but it is upto you how you make the most out of it.
Till you finish your course I would suggest you should not make any move and next year you can try your luck.
