I have cum in 4th yr nw n i m very interested in joinin army any hw. though my personal choice is to join army but not as a dentist but jus as normal leiutenant. so plz giude me regardin the options available n hw to apply for it.. actually i cant continue my practice coz i dnt hav patience at all. so pl tell me sum other interesting careers also.. Answer: You have to pass the Combined Defence Services exam. You can take this exam in your final year in college. There are two main entry schemes --- The Graduate Direct Entry Scheme and the Technical Graduates Entry Scheme. The duration of training is one year in the case of Technical Graduates Entry Scheme and NDA Gentleman cadets. For the Direct Entry Scheme, it's one and a half years.

Since you have done Dentistry, you can join in the capacity of a dentist also.

Recruitment for permanent and short service commission for MBBS/post graduate doctors in Army Medical Corps (AMC) and BDS/MDS in Army dental corps are conducted by Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS). If you are MBBS/MD/MS/DM/BDS/MDS degree holder and aged below 30 yrs for permanent commission and below 45 yrs for ssc, you can apply for direct interview conducted by board of officers, DGAFMS. Candidates of MBBS/BDS are commissioned as direct captain in the Indian army.
