Subject: MBA after Bsc Biotechnology, is it a good option?
Date: 1-Jul-2008
Question: Is MBA after BSc Biotechnology a good choice, regarding the fact that there are only a few BT companies in the country, what would be the career prospect, scope and pay? would it be a wise decision to turn into management after a pure science background? please answer
Answer: Hi,

Actually it all depends on your interest whether you want to work in a pure science background or you want to switch over to management. Money wise management give faster returns in minimum time span.

After MBA you will get job offers mostly based on your MBA degree. As for example if you did MBA in finance then you will get job offers mostly from financial firms. They will just check your knowledge of financial related topics and if you are up to the mark then you have chances of getting the job. In MBA like Agricultural business management candidate with bio background are preferred, but in all other traditional management fields preference is given only to your Pg degree. Pay package depends mainly on the reputation of Management College. MBA from any decent college can fetch you near about 5-6 lakhs per annum.
