Subject: CPA in the US? Good or Bad?
Date: 23-May-2003
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am 27 years old and have completed my MBA in Finance from an affiliate college of the University of Madras in Chennai. I am basically a science graduate and wanted a shift to the Finance area. I joined for Chartered Accountancy and have done my Articles with Deloitte and Touche, a big four firm. But As I was not able to clear my exams, I came over to do my MBA from a private college. I am presently trying for a job and have taken up CFA which I intend to complete along with my job in the finance area. I am also planning to try and complete my CA or go for a CPA in the US as the demand for CPA's is growing in India in the BPO sector. Kindly advise whether it would be a good choice. Thank you.
Answer: Seems fine. Just put in the right amount of effort to clear your papers. In the next go. Its becoming quite late otherwise.

Your counsel.
