Subject: Switching over to software/IT after Diploma in Civil engg.

| Question: Sir, I have completed Diploma in Civil Engg. during May 2006 and got selected in L&T through campus selection and working as Diploma Engineer Trainee in L&T since July 2006. I am very much interested in computer software and now I am thinking to switchover to software line/IT and planning to join B.E. Computer Science on a full time basis by 2008 quitting the job. Will I have equal job prospects after B.E. computer science. please guide me. |

| Answer: Congratulations! You have a good start in a good company. Your thought of moving from one specialized field to the other is completely your decision but as far as your apprehension about whether you would be able to get opportunities after computers is concerned...don't panic there are jobs galore in this area as well.
