Subject: BCA
Date: 3-Aug-2008
Question: Is BCA a good option?
Answer: After completing your BCA, you have many job options in computer field. If you are interested in technical field then MCA would be a good for you after you complete BCA. If you want to enhance your professional and managerial skills then MBA is good for you.

BCA teaches you the basic concept behind most of the fields in computing so that you know the fundamentals behind all the technologies. And if you don't want to for MBA or MCA after that you can opt for some other courses like BCA + DOEACC 'A' level is a dual qualification programme that makes you eligible for a number of technical jobs straightaway after completion can the job as a:

  • Programmer
  • EDP Officer
  • Assistant to Data Base Manager
  • Teaching faculty
  • Laboratory demonstrator

So only BCA would not be enough to make a career. YOu have to combine something along with it. But if you would have joined B.tech instead of BCA, it would have been better for you.

All the best
