Subject: MSc. (Microbiology) after BSc. Physics main

Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am aged 25 married n mother of a child. I completed my Bsc Physics,58% marks. Now i want to pursue my higher studies and confused about choosing the higher studies. Is it possible to do (Medical) MSc. Microbiology or Msc.(Biochemistry) for a Physics main graduate. I studied Biology as a subject only in 12th standard(pre-univ). Sir pls suggest a suitable course except MBA/MCA for a physics graduate.

Answer: You wont be able to do M.Sc microbiology as you are student of Physics. M.Sc Microbiology requires a pre qualification in Life Sciences like Botany Zoology or degree in Microbiology.
Since you don't want to go for MBA and MCA, you can go for post graduation in the specialised areas of physics itself. There are various areas of specialization in Physics. Specialization at PG level is provided in Nuclear Physics, Particle Physics, Electronics, Solid State Physics, Spectroscopy, Atmospheric Physics and Astrophysics.
You can also do M.Sc Physics or M.Sc Physics-Material Science or M.Sc Laser Science and Applications.Another branch of Physics is Nulclear Physics in which you can do your post graduation.Nuclear physics is a specialised branch of physics that deals with the study of the internal structure of atomic nuclei.
