Subject: career prospects in MBA and CFA
Date: 26-Sep-2007
Question: I am student of class 12 commerce in a CBSE school. I want to know about MBA and CFA courses. What are career prospects in future. Please specify which MBA branch and from which college. How should I plan to move ahead after passing 12.
Answer: Right now focus on you 12th grade exams but keep reading the newspaper esp. the Editorial column, try solving verbal and numerical problems that come in leading dailies to get a hold of the exams that would follow you soon. MBA as we all know is a management course which helps you acquire specialized knowledge in a particular field to enhance your people skills giving you keen perception and flexibility to approach at things differently. CFA is the Certified Financial Analyst and it is a specialized PG course of 3 years duration. They generally use their skills in areas like financial accounting, management accounting and financial management etc. For MBA the best ones of course are the IIM's, ISB, Hyderabad; FMS, XLRI, Jamna Lal Bajaj and a few more. The entrance to any of the reputed MBA colleges is through the CAT(Common Aptitude Test).

Hope that helps.
