Question: I have quit My B.Com in my second year for some personal problem, Currently i am working for a resturant as a Assistant Manager I had to take up this job because of financial problem. But since I am in a sound financial condition now I want to change my line of work.
I have 2 things in my mind
1. To join a diploma course in hardware and networking. 2. To continue with my B.Com
since my age at present is 23. Please advice me which one of the above will be more suitable for me. I want settle in my life atleast before 26 with a good job in hand.
Answer: First think: Do you love your job? Is it initial attraction and fad that attracts you or you stumbled over this job. Restaurant jobs can be demanding. People expect courtesy, 'they have right to boil, you don't' and so on. If you are real cool in mind, you are both soft and tough, polite, you enjoy company of people, stick to the job and do some hotel management course.

If you are maggoo type, go for B Com and look at ICWA, CS and CA courses. But you will have to do essential article ship. You may like to check with a CA firm and ask how much do they pay for article ship. Compare that amount with what you earn in restaurant business, In article ship, you may have long hours, or may be required to travel a lot. If you are single, traveling is always pleasant.

Hardware and networking will add to chequeredness to your profile: It will become: Commerce student instead of turning naturally in to commerce manager came to hotels to get in to computers,

Jobs are not plenty in IT. And your competition will be against engineers, some thing difficult to compete with on a pitch naturally made for them rather than commerce.

Your counsel.
