Subject: M.A. in HR or IR after
12 years job experience?<
Date: 10-Mar-2003
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have gained admission to pursue M.A. Industrial Relations and also M.A.
Human Resource Management in 2003. I have worked for twelve years as an
administrative officer in the electric utility industry. What would be a
better option in your opinion? I am forty years. Thank you.
Answer: This course seems to be logical choice. But my advise
shall be that you need to spend good time in your job and not let the studies
get an air in your head that now you are above others and that with better
qualifications you can kick this job at a spur of the moment. Industry is
bad and jobs scarce, very scarce.
You may get to organize your self better, save the company money. The company
will like to remove dead wood. Education may not be recognized, its actual
performance that will matter.
