Subject: CFA programme after MBA
Date: 28-Feb-2003
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a working executive and done my MBA, wants to pursue the CFA programme.
I have gone through the entire prospectus, but it doesn't comments on the
recognition part of the CFA programme or its affiliations. Also, is ICFAI
the only institution to provide CFA programme. Also, whether it will be beneficial
for a person who has already done a MBA to do CFA. Thank you.
Answer:
There is no end to gaining knowledge. In my opinion, after MBA, you should
add to qualifications only if it is compelling. If your job involves finance,
concentrate learning the trade secrets and make contacts rather than only
adding degrees. Add if it statutory or requirement of the company.
