Subject: Working as shift manager in power plant for 10 years. What to do for career move?
Date: 14-Oct-2007
Question: I am 45 yrs of age and working in power plant as shift manager. I was in same position for 10yrs, now I am aged and difficult to get next position even in other organisation. I had nuclear power and gas-turbine combined cycle power plant experience.
Answer: If you desire to do something of your own or have your consultancy firm -you can think of doing that. You could also think of making a move to some other power plant, maybe at the same level but check if the promotions are quicker there than what it is right now. You will have to explore the job market related to your field through the various options available.
