Subject: Is MBA correspondence helpful?
Date: 21-Oct-2007
Question: Hi, I had completed B-Tech. I was working as an HR in a consultancy. Now I want to change my line. I am having a child; so plz suggest me will MBA correspondence be helpful during this 2-3 yrs? So that after 2-3 yrs if I want to enter into teaching line or any govt sectors will that degree work? Plz help me.
Answer: Correspondence courses definitely don't have that much of a market value in terms of employability as the regular courses. Some of the recognised and good institutes still are better of in terms of knowledge they impart and have some standing in the job market and are given due credibility. Considering your limitations with a child, it is definitely better to utilize your time effectively and constructively in some good course. Teaching career would not prefer a distance course and a candidate with regular course would be given preference over you.
Nonetheless, there are opportunities in other areas as well.

All the best!
