Date: 17-Jan-2008
Question: Hi,

I am a Commerce Grad, & working for a reputed financial company. There is a gap of 3 yrs since I left the software field. I also have 3 yrs of programming experience & good programming skills. Now I am 28 yrs old & willing to return to software field.

I want to know that will SCJP help me in getting good job as a JAVA programmer? & does age matters in getting software jobs after this gap?

Your advise & guidance will help me a lot.

Thank you very much in advance for your reply.

Answer: Dear Dheeraj,

SCJP(Sun Certified Java Programmer)is the foundation certification for programmers interested in demonstrating proficiency in the fundamentals of the Java programming language. The course would be of help but later you could think of specializing as a developer. You already have experience in programming and with the growing demand for these professionals it would not be very difficult for you to get a job. It is upto you as to how you can best tackle the questions during the interview and then you have experience of finance as well.

Wishing you luck!
