Date: 26-May-2002
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
Myself Sanjay Gupta I am a Web Developer into this industry from the past 2.6 years. I am a B.Com graduate, I want to have an additional degree or diploma in (I.T.) to make my computer background strong. Please inform for what can I do? I am 23 years old, what can I do? I had scored 48% in B.Com third year. As today Web market I am planning to do multimedia but still what do you suggest? Please inform me soon for I want to take a decision. I am interested in doing some course which can help me and even while I go for job my qualification that I am only B.Com or from commerce doesn't arise. Please inform me. Thanking you.
Answer: Let me tell you that many people got in to the IT Tide. Lets accept that the IT tide is gone. Do not run behind shadows. You made hay while the sun shone, be happy. Do not brood over the past.

For the future, if you have liking and talent, please do Graphics or animations. This field shall remain bright for some more time.

But you should get your basic degrees right. The question of your being from commerce background is a reality and you can not do much about it. Cover up with good degree in IT and more so with excellent workmanship and skill. Your work will show, degrees do not matter when it comes to the commercial world and work skill. Only roads shall be narrow. No matter as long as you sail.
