Subject: What to do ?
Date: 18-Aug-2002
Question: I am K. Nagaraj from Bangalore. I have done my B.Tech from REC KURUKSHETRA with 66.5% marks. I have good communication skills and a good positive attitude in my life. Well I have high ambitions and very high expectations for myself. I feel every type of work or job is sacred. I am ready to do any type of job in the given circumstances including lectureship. I have deep interest at Fibre Optics and Digital Electronics. I prefer to be an all-rounder rather than a master. What is best to me? What opportunity should I look for? I have a belief that once I get a start then I am very good to continue the job and my attitude is to serve the people and leave a mark before I leave this earth.
Hoping good reply.
Answer: Thanks for your mail. I would like to reverse your model:
You may prefer to be an all-rounder but that does not take you long and far enough.

I have a serious suggestion: Focus on an area and grow in that. Being a generalist is fine, but be a master of one at least. Success comes only when you have mastered. Time tells this.
