Subject: Query related to Software field
Date: 6-Jun-2002
Question: I am doing 2 years DNIIT course from NIIT. Recently I came to know that after the IT-slump, IT companies are recruiting only degree holders of this field and the value for a degree in software is far good than a mere diploma. Is this true? What are the future prospects for diploma holders? What should I do to become a good IT-profession. I am confused here. Please guide me. Also advise me that should I do well known G-NIIT(3 years diploma) or a full-fleged degree course like MCA.
Answer: It is important to get a proper MCA as diploma holders will not be preferred skill for software development. In some companies, they do not even encourage MCAs for software. They prefer only degree holders in C.S. Engineers from top colleges. In my opinion doing a lower course will waste time and money.
