So whether you want to pursue further studies in IT or whether you want to take up a job, your CGPA can be converted into percentage first and then you can be given admission according to that or through personal interviews or entrance examination or whatever their criteria is.
Some companies do have a minimum criteria which is typically 60% or equivalent CGPA. While it matters only in few companies as initial entry criteria, in long run, you ability to do a certain job outweighs everything else.
