Answer: A B.A, B.Sc or B.com degree from a recognized university, graduates in engineering, computer science or law, chartered and cost accountants with a bachelor's degree, or PG management diploma holders are eligible for getting a job in this sector. Preference is given to those who have passed the Indian Institute of Bankers Examination, or who have knowledge of banking or information and technology.
But to get a job in a nationalized bank you need to pass the Banking Services Recruitment Board Examination or State Service Board Examination.
The UPSC also conducts the All India Bank Probation Officers Examination to which all commerce graduates and economic graduates can apply.
If you want you can also do one year post graduate diploma course in banking or diploma in finance in order to specialise in banking. This can also help you in a better way to get the job.
Hope that helps
