Date: 1-May-2003
Question: I am 21 years old Mechanical student. I have decided to do my carrier in Law. But I wanted to go for U.P.S.C ultimately. I am still undergraduate. I just want to ask that The five years L.L.B course available at government LAW collage or at any recognised law collage in mumbai. Is this course is a graduate course? And will I be able to go for U.P.S.C after the completion of this course? Please guide me sir. Thank You Very much. Also tell me about my eligibility for L.L.B. Thank you.
Answer: You seem to be getting confused like thousands of others. You must first figure out why you want to leave Mechanical line and get in to Law when your ultimate aim is to go for competitions in UPSC? In my view, you should stick to Mechanical line. A technical qualification always is useful as you can start your own work. And try for UPSC through that route. You can select variety of papers that may suit you. Law is also good area of study, but needs a different bent of mind. Since you are in mechanical side, do not think you will fit in that mentality. It may lead to frustration only for the rest of your life.
