Subject: Query regarding change of job.
Date: 15-Oct-2007
Question: I have 6 yrs. experience in the field of production & manufacturing. I changed my field recently & switched to sales & marketing but it doesn't suit me because of nature of job which contains extensive traveling & remaining out of station for a longer time. I want to return to my previous field but I'm facing difficulties to convince during interview. Kindly suggest what to do?
Answer: An interview can be a very stressful moment if one goes unprepared. No matter how many years of experience you have or how good you are with your job, if you are not able to convince the employer of your suitability -- everything goes in vain. It is very important to face the interview with a lot of conviction about your needs and aspirations and how your recent switch could be beneficial to them. Also try highlighting the other competencies you have acquired while in the sales & marketing field which could be of use in other areas as well. The best way to attempt an interview is to prepare oneself of all possible questions and do not give fake responses.
