Question: I am 28 years old now, and dropped out of college few years ago, and I have very good English skills. If I now do an M.C.A.(in computers) from NIIT or UPTEC, can I still go to Europe or America? I'm told that the software industry (hiring MCAs) mainly looks at skills, not the university or institution from one graduates. Is this correct?
Thank you
Answer: If that was the case then people should not go for the tough entrance exams conducted by IIT's/IIM's and other such reputed institutions. There is no shortcut for success, when you say skills, then people passing out from reputed institutes are better equipped than the other institutes. Doing a DOEACC course is advisable over a NIIT/UPTEC courses.
Before taking any decision, first find why out of the blue you suddenly want to do MCA and not anything else. What are your interest areas and subsequently make an informed decision of going ahead with something. If you are good at your work, you'll definitely get the opportunity to go abroad.
