Subject: Want to switch to core Finance sector
Date: 4-Jan-2008
Question: Dear Madam/Sir,

I am a B.COM(Hons.) graduate from C.U. and in final semester of PGDM course from AIMA with finance as my specialization.

Currently I am working in a BPO in a MNC but I am not happy as I want to work in core finance.

I also want to pursue higher studies at doctorate level but do not have 50% in graduation and cannot pursue Phd from any university.

Can you please guide me what I can do so that I can fulfill my ambition? I feel stuck and confused.

Answer: It would be better if you take up a regular course in MBA Finance from a good institute rather than doing a part time course because your experience in BPO will not count in the finance sector. PhD has its own rules of eligibility and only if you want to get into the academics will the degree be of much use. As of now, focus on doing a good course from a good institute.

All the best!
